The Courtenay Gem & Mineral Club is a community of rockhounds, lapidary enthusiasts, collectors, and curious learners who share a passion for rocks, gems, minerals, and fossils. Based in the Comox Valley, our club brings together people of all ages and experience levels who enjoy learning, exploring, and creating with the natural materials of British Columbia and beyond.

As a member club of the BC Lapidary Society, we promote education, craftsmanship, and responsible collecting through regular meetings, hands-on workshops, field trips, and public events. Whether you are brand new to rock and mineral collecting or have years of experience cutting, polishing, or wire wrapping, you are welcome here.

Our members enjoy:

  • Monthly meetings, presentations, and demonstrations
  • Lapidary workshops such as cutting, grinding, and polishing stones
  • Field trips and rockhounding excursions
  • Learning about rocks, minerals, fossils, and geology
  • Skill-sharing and mentorship from experienced members
  • Our annual Gem & Mineral Show
  • A welcoming, community-focused club environment

The Courtenay Gem & Mineral Club is run by volunteers and driven by a shared love of learning and discovery. We are proud to contribute to local education, foster creativity, and connect people through a hands-on hobby rooted in geology, art, and science.

We invite you to explore our website to learn more about our club, upcoming meetings, workshops, field trips, and events.
