About Us
The Courtenay Gem & Mineral Club has been an active part of the Comox Valley community for over twenty years, bringing together people of all ages and experience levels who share a passion for rocks, minerals, fossils, geology, and lapidary arts.
Based in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, our club takes full advantage of the incredible geology around us. Members enjoy exploring local and regional sites on field trips, learning about the rocks and minerals we find, and discovering the many ways they can be worked, displayed, and enjoyed.
Our members range in age from 10 to 90 and come from all kinds of backgrounds, including teachers, geologists, amateur fossil hunters, artists, collectors, and enthusiastic rockhounds. Whether you are brand new to collecting or have years of experience cutting and polishing stones, there is a place for you here.
