Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Courtenay Gem & Mineral Club. Our Annual Gem & Mineral Show is our largest public event of the year, and it is made possible entirely through the time, energy, and generosity of volunteers. We truly appreciate your support.

The Gem & Mineral Show is a favourite event for rockhounds, collectors, families, and visitors from across Vancouver Island and beyond.

Show Details

Dates: April 3, 4, & 5, 2026
Hours: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM daily
Location: Comox Valley Curling Club, Courtenay, British Columbia

Following strong attendance in previous years, including more than 4,000 visitors in 2025, the 2026 show has expanded to three full days. As a volunteer-run club, we rely on volunteers to help with setup, show operations, and tear-down to ensure the event runs smoothly and remains welcoming for all attendees.

Volunteers are needed April 2–5, 2026. Shifts are approximately 4 hours, and volunteers may sign up for one or more shifts.

What Volunteers Receive

• A snack for a 4-hour shift
• A meal for an 8-hour shift

Setup and tear-down involve moving tables and equipment. Volunteers in these roles should be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs.

Relevant experience or skills

This is optional, but it helps us place volunteers where they’ll be most comfortable. Event experience, working with kids, customer service, or physical setup experience are all helpful.
