Workshop
The Courtenay Gem & Mineral Club workshop is the perfect place for hands-on lapidary work and rock exploration. Our fully equipped space allows members to cut, polish, and work with rocks, minerals, and fossils in a safe, supervised environment.
Workshop Facilities
Our workshop features:
- Saws, genies, drills, and polishers
- Tables and benches for safe working and project preparation
- Guidance and supervision from experienced members and the shop master
Workshop Hours & Fees
- When: Wednesdays, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- Fees: Members $5 per visit | Non-members $10 per visit

What to Bring
To ensure a safe and productive workshop experience, members should bring:
- Personal safety gear (goggles, gloves, dust mask, etc.)
- Sturdy shoes
- Hair ties if you have long hair
- Material to work on (rocks, minerals, fossils, etc.)
- Optional personal tools or project supplies
Learning Opportunities
New members learn directly from experienced members and the shop master, who provide hands-on guidance and advice. All work is supervised to ensure safety and proper technique.
Our workshop is family-friendly and welcoming, offering a quiet, focused space to explore, create, and enjoy rocks and minerals with support from the club community.
